Hunter Twitty

Assistant Pastor

A native of Birmingham, Hunter became a Christian at fifteen years old. Soon after, during his undergraduate studies at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, he sensed a call to Minister the Word – a call which led him back to Birmingham for the beginning of his theological training at Beeson Divinity School in the summer of 2010.  Upon graduating in May of 2014, Hunter joined the staff of Third Presbyterian and on May, 31 2015, was ordained and installed as the Assistant Pastor.  He and his wife Elizabeth married in March of 2013 and have three children.

Anton Ivanov

Assistant Pastor

Born in Russia, Anton came to the USA in 2010 as a non-believer on a tennis scholarship. Six years later through the loving witness of many Christians in Birmingham, Anton came to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A year later, Anton began to sense a call to the ministry and began studies at Beeson Divinity School. As he was growing in his faith and the knowledge of the Scripture the Lord brought he and his wife, Dasha, to Third. Anton was ordained in February of 2022. Anton and Dasha have two children.

Susan Simon

Special Assistant for Ministry to Women

Having spent the first 15 years of her life in Savannah, Georgia and the next 8 in North Augusta, South Carolina, Susan considers herself a true southerner at heart! While brought up in the church, Susan became a Christian at the age of 17 through the ministry of Young Life. She holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from Augusta State University, and it was there where she met and eventually married Harold Simon, her college sweetheart. Harold and Susan have been married since June of 1975 and are the parents of five sons, two of whom are deceased.

Anya Hall

Director of Children & Youth Ministry

Anya was born and grew up in Ukraine in a family of collective farmers during the rule of the Soviet Union. Despite her family being Christians, Anya was a communist and atheist in a godless system. After the Soviet Union collapsed, Anya was led to Christ by American missionaries who had come to Ukraine. She then moved to Odessa City and began her journey in Christ as an MTW Editor/Translator and children's ministry volunteer.  She holds a Masters in Education degree. Anya met her American husband, Joe, when he was on a mission trip to Ukraine in 2004.
